Don't let us fool you- this was a 2 year decision in the making!

Ryan and I signed to build our home with Wayne Homes on June 12th and we could not be more excited to share this journey with you all. Thank you so much for visiting our blog. We hope you find it both entertaining as well as informative!
The Uncomfortable Truth
"The comfort zone is the great enemy to creativity; moving beyond it necessitates intuition, which in turn configures new perspectives and conquers fears."- Dan Stevens
It's comfortable to stay where you're at. It's comfortable to look for something already built. It's comfortable to come up with excuses as to why not to build a new home. What's uncomfortable is making the leap; and although a little intimidating- it is well worth the reward. A home that is yours, and only yours.
Our Connection with Wayne
As many of you may know, I actually work for Wayne Homes! I want to be as candid as I can throughout this blog so in the spirit of candidness, I should mention that we didn't shop any other builders. We didn't have to. I have worked with Wayne Homes for over 2 years now and trust me when I say, if I had any shadow of a doubt about our craftsmanship- we would have shopped around. I actually encourage my customers to shop. This is a big decision, after all. One of the biggest decisions we'll probably make in our life time. If I weren't as familiar or comfortable with our process, we probably would have shopped around, too!
My Hardest Customer to Date
"My dear, sweet, beloved husband."
My husband. My dear, sweet, beloved husband is hands down the hardest customer I have ever had to sell. He is a financial advisor, and God bless him, he married one of the most impulsive people in the world. We could not be more opposite regarding decision making if we tried! I was ready to sign on a house the month that I started with Wayne Homes. It's so hard to avoid the building bug when you work around it all day, every day! I quoted out TWENTY-TWO different floor plans for us. People.... that's a lot of floor plans! I did a cost analysis break down for each one and slowly, but surely, wore Ryan down. Once I found the plan that I was in LOVE with- he caved. I think it's my big, brown eyes (or my threatening persuasion tactics).
Next Step
Now that we've signed our contract and secured land and financing, our next step is our color selection meeting. We have this scheduled for Friday, July 12 so stay tuned for another update!
can't wait to be on this journey with you!!!! So excited!!!!!!
Nice job with the blog and convincing your husband to move forward with the plans.
How exciting! Can't wait to follow your homebuilding experience! Thanks for sharing!
